Why the World Needs a Superman

I had Citalopram reviews the opportunity Nitroglycerin patch last night Verapamil hydrochloride to watch Bupropion 150mg - 60 pills a great movie. Superman Returns. But this is not a review of the movie. I would prefer you to go watch the movie for yourself than let me tell you what I thought of it. There was one scene in particular that really struck a chord with me. A particular female journalist was making conversation with the Man of Steel and emphatically told him this: “The world does not need a savior.” He did Lansoprazole odt not respond immediately. Instead he Amitriptyline hcl Kamagra 50mg - 90 pills side effects wanted to Buy Advair Diskus Online show her something. He took her with him to where they could see the entire city and asked her, “You say that the world does not need a savior? Then why do I hear people cry for one every day?” Now of course Superman was talking about a physical savior but what I want to talk about is something even more important than that. Superman is able to save people but he is completely helpless when it comes to someone’s ultimate salvation.

Just like Lois Lane, none of us think that we need a savior. What do we need saving from anyway? We are so caught up in our daily lives that we seem to miss what it is we need saving from. We just don’t take the time to think about it. The truth of the matter is that we (the entire human race) need to be saved from our sin. Let me define what I am talking about. So many times we use this word and don’t even stop to think about what it means. Sin is a grievous offense against the God that created us. It is something that goes against the law that He set up for us to live by.

Think about it like this. Let’s say that you are an architect and you design a building for a specific purpose. Let’s say it’s a hospital. A hospital is a place of healing. Now let’s pretend that this building had the capacity to use itself in whatever fashion it wished and it decided that, instead of being a place of healing, it would be a death camp where people are tortured and die. As the designer of this hospital would you not feel as if a wrong had been committed? What you intended for good was being used for evil. Another example could be a fish. What if a fish, obviously meant to be in the water, decided one day that it did not want to be in the water anymore and that it would live on the beach instead. What would happen to the fish? It might be happy for a little while because it was on the beach but it would soon die because it was trying to live in a fashion that it was not designed for. In the same way, when we try to live in a capacity that we were not created for physical hardships come and eventually, spiritual death. Here is the other catch about sin: there is nothing we can do about it. Just like the humans in the Superman story, we are helpless to save ourselves. So we need a savior. All of us do. Every day people are crying out for a savior. So who is this Savior?

Some of you might have guessed where I am going with this already. In fact, I would expect that anyone reading this that grew up in the USA knows what I am about to say. His name is Jesus. Jesus Christ is mankind’s savior. He is the Superman we really need. He sacrificed Himself and took the punishment that you and I deserve for the sins we have committed against God. We are not using ourselves in the way God intended for us to and, consequently, we need a savior. The most encouraging thing about this is that He is listening and waiting for you to call out and ask Him to save you.
