The same can be said of this great salvation that we live in, if indeed we have accepted Christ’s sacrifice for us and are born again into new life.  One of our couple-friends recently had a baby which is what sparked these thoughts in my head.  When I heard she was born I began to pray that God would move in her life to bring her to salvation in Christ.  At that moment the magnitude of what I was asking for hit me like a two ton box of Skittles falling from a ten story window.

The way we determine the worth of something is by looking at the cost associated with that thing.  The freedom we experience in this country is worth so much because of the lives that were lost to secure that freedom.  When it comes to our salvation in Christ the worth is far above anything we can imagine because the cost is as well.  The completely innocent Son of God had to be beaten, crucified, and ultimately be forsaken by God to purchase our salvation.  Christ had to die.  There is nothing we could do in ourselves to bridge the gap between God and us.

So, as I was praying for this baby’s salvation I realized the magnitude of what I was asking for.  It is not a little thing even though we sometimes throw the word around.  Our salvation is not something to be taken lightly!  It is HUGE! When we accept Christ’s atoning sacrifice, the sin that separates us from God is forgiven at an immeasurable cost to God.  When you say you are saved, please take a moment and consider the gravity of what you are saying.  It should floor you that the God who created the universe sent his only Son to die a horrible death and rise again to save you from a very real Hell and bring you to Himself.  Take time to consider the immeasurable magnitude of your salvation.  It will change the way you live and interact with people around you.
