The Catch-all post

Jan 24

It has Acyclovir cold sores been a Ethambutol side effects while since Toprol XL 25mg - 30 pills I have Viagra 25 mg posted an update and much has happened so a catch-all post seemed in order.

Financial Peace University

After my wife and I finished our Sacred Marriage study at church we were trying to decide what study to do next.  As most of you who read my site know, I was a finance major in college and I like to keep up with an intense Excel budget.  I am constantly tweaking this thing.  My wife doesn’t get into the details as much as I do.  When I first heard about this class I figured it would be a waste of time for me.  That was before I got married and grew up a little.  After all, “Only a fool thinks he has something totally figured out and refuses wise counsel.  I don’t want to be that fool.

As a way to give us a level playing field and money vocabulary we decided to take this class.  I am very glad we are in it.  I have to admit that, despite my detailed budget, I was not very good at setting long term money goals.  This is what I want to learn from this study.  Since there have only been two classes so far, I will keep you posted on how it goes.

The Cruise

Ah yes, the cruise. (little sigh) It was awesome!  I suppose all awesome things will come to an end in this world and the cruise is no different.  We had a blast on and off the ship.  The food was plentiful and wonderful.  It was a great time of relaxing.  Off the boat we got to experience one of the seven wonders of the world (the central temple of Chechen Itza Mayan ruins) and the exhilaration of para-sailing.  I will try to get some pictures up on here soon or you can take a look at my photos section above.

Windows 7 beta

There might be a few of you interested in this one.  I am beta testing the new Windows software.  It has been getting great reviews so far and I am really enjoying it.  There are some big improvements and I will try to write up a post that will detail them further.

Board Games

A few new board games have been played.  Wits and Wagers is a party-style game that is great for large groups.  It is a trivia game that does not require you to have a large trivia brain.  Everyone takes a guess at the answer and them people bet on the one they think is correct.  Very fun.

The other game is San Juan, a card game version of Puerto Rico.  This game supports only four players but it plays wonderfully.  If you like Puerto Rico you will definitely enjoy this one.

I guess I am on a card game kick these days because the last one is a card game as well.  In Citadels the player is a ruler that is trying to build a city.  It is kind of hard to describe the game as it is a little complex but, it is also great fun!  So next time you play a game with us it might be one of these.

My 2009 reading plan

This last bit of news is just my way of keeping myself accountable.  I really enjoy reading.  Usually I am reading a fiction book and I want to change that.  I want to read one non-fiction book for every fiction one I read.  I want to read some histories and biographies.  Along with my normal Bible reading this should round out the information I am getting from my reading.

So there you go.  A brief catch-all post.  Now you are updated.  Back to your regularly scheduled program.

  1. This probably Cr123a lithium battery counts under Myambutol 800 mg the category of “technicalities,” (i.e. “technically nonfiction”) but this Duetact 17 mg morning I Buy Cefixime Online started reading Chamberlain’s Horse: How the Horse Has Shaped Civilizations.

It’s a very odd book–equal consideration seems to be given to the historical/anatomical existence of the horse and to poetic/cultural values associated with the horse, but both are filled with a quiet sense of wonder. So far it is pretty good and very refreshing. It also reads more like fiction (or even light poetry) than nonfiction. Well worth an interlibrary loan, imo.
