This grace is a gift from God so that no one can claim they did anything to deserve it. All we have to do is accept it by putting our faith in Christ. We are all dependent and vulnerable, and capable of either and guilty of both. As "Christians," many of us refuse to accept that Christ died for all. Grace is already given, regardless of our actions -- good or bad. It is the acceptance of that grace which makes us holy. Once accepted, grace guides us towards good and helps us to shun evil. As humans, we are limited because we wish to love only those who are good -- so we look hard to determine whether a person is "good" or "evil" as a basal state. God, however, is great and has told us in so many ways that we are loved regardless of our "nature." We don't earn grace by being good, we live in grace by accepting God's love. Nice to see a Christian defend this movie, without being a fanatic zealot, as I've seen countless times. And nice that no one is barking "god doesn't exist" either. Nice to see some peaceful disagreement on the internets. Anyway, I'm not a Christian, but I did like the message the movie conveys. If the whole Christianism religion would think like that, I would still be one, but then again, I change some of my convictions and beliefs long ago. Still, I agree, it's an awesome movie, with some beautiful motifs, and the Quran detail in the end was great. I took it as a "let's leave differences aside" comment from the production team.
