First of all, we need to remember the Wood family, Emily, and all those affected by Kelsey’s death. It always makes me sad when a young person dies, thinking of all the potential that their life held. But the fact of the matter is that God called her home to Him. I am thankful that He took her home so as to keep her from as much pain as possible. As a spectator in the matter, I mourn with the family for their loss, but praise God for his soverignty in this situation. Kelsey, you are home with your Creator and Father and I look forward to meeting you someday.
On the same note, Chelsea told me today that one of the girls that goes to her church was diagnosed with cancer. Where will the bad news end? Please be praying for her, her family, and those close to her for strength, and that God would use whatever means necessary to heal her and bring glory to His name through this situation.
That kind of news has a sobering effect on a persons day, but that considered, I had a good day. Work was pretty good and productive. After work I got to talk to Chelsea for a few minutes. It was good to hear from her. She is enjoying her time at home with her family. After that, David and I went to get something to eat. My good friend Laura called me up to tell me how things were going for her spiritually and it was good news. For those of you who know about Jesus Crew Ministries, she used to be very involved with it here in Abilene. Since she is living in Houston now, she wanted to start a Jesus Crew: Houston. We can pray that God would bring her the people she needs to get it off the ground.
Then my night got interesting. Me and a few other guys all went to Wal-Mart and bought nerf dart guns. Yeah. Then we took them to David’s house, turned off all the lights and proceded to kill each other. Yes, I am 24 years old. I just still know how to have fun. We had a blast and I ended up with a hole in my jeans. Good times. And that brings me to a close on Sunday. Stay tuned for more up-to-date action in Brian’s life.
