Seeds Among Weeds

Other seeds fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain.

And others are the ones sown among thorns.  They are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.

I couldn’t think of a better way to describe myself either.

It is disheartening sometimes to read a passage like this and realize just how far I have to go.  Despite the the sanctification I have come through I am no where near perfect.  I suppose we all need a reminder of this on occasion.  Perfection will never come in this world, yet that is what is required to enter into the presence of the Lord.  This is when we see our need for someone to step in and do what we can’t.

All praise be to Jesus for being that perfect substitute!  Father, give me the strength to overcome the distracting weeds around me so that I can be fruitful for your glory!
