Prayer

Sorry about Meclizine dosage the lack Allied waste seattle of a Acyclovir cold sores post yesterday. Even though Zoloft withdrawal I was off work I was still quite busy. My wife started her new job yesterday and I spent quite a bit of time at a car dealership. If you have been reading my blog for a while you may know that I have been wanting a truck. Ever since we bought our house I have found time after time where a truck would be very handy. I almost purchased a Tundra last October but decided that it wasn’t the right time or the right truck. In my research on vehicles I came across an interesting truck: the Honda Ridgeline. I have seen it before but didn’t think to much of it. What made me take notice in my research was the fact that Consumer Reports ranked it the highest of any truck on the market. I decided that I should at least check it out before I bought something else to see what the big deal was. So this past Saturday I went up to the Honda dealership intent on finding out why it was so highly rated. I ended up getting to take one for the weekend. What I found was a vehicle that fit almost everything I was looking for in a truck. It fit my needs for a truck and fit my wife’s needs for a vehicle.
Lacey wanted something smaller than the Tundra and something she felt comfortable driving. She also wanted something that would be easy to load a baby into someday. I needed a truck: something to carry around the items to keep up and improve a house. It fit all of these. Most importantly though, we wanted something that fit into our budget. We needed something that would not change our financial situation, meaning the same car payment that we had before without going into a lease or an extremely long term loan. I was also wanting to sell my Xterra to get the most out of it I could. This is a pretty tall order for a truck that is pretty pricey. I didn’t think it would happen so I didn’t get my hopes up.
Well, it did happen. They got the payment exactly where I needed it, they gave me on the trade what I wanted to sell my SUV for, a loan term I was happy with, a warranty that was even longer than the term of the loan, and the truck at five hundred dollars less than invoice price. My only explanation is that it was an answer to prayer. We prayed that if this was the truck that God wanted us to have that he would give us all of these things. He did.
I find it very interesting that many of the big decisions Lacey and I have made (getting married, buying a house, buying a car) have all come very fast and unexpectedly. We aren’t the kind of people to make quick decisions. It is just a testament to God’s plans for our lives. We got back together and got married in three months. While looking at houses, we were ready to quit and renew the lease on our apartment as we hadn’t found what we were looking for. We looked at a house the last weekend before having to renew our lease, loved it, and bought it. We weren’t planning on buying a truck but God brought the right one at the right time.
This is a testament to the power of praying consistently. During all of these situations we were both united in prayer for His will to be done and praying for specific things. Amazing. We need to pray like this more often.
There is one other thing we are praying for right now that I would ask you to join me in. My Grandmother has lung cancer. She has smoked for her whole life and this has kept her from really being around my family. It was her choice. I do not believe she is saved and she has a real hardness toward anyone sharing the Gospel with her. Pray that the Lord would pierce her heart with His Word and that she would come to know freedom from the sin that binds her through faith in Christ’s death and resurrection. Pray for my family as we are around her in her last little while on this earth that God would give us words of love to speak to her.
Brian
