Oh! Canada!
Life is interesting. Sunday afternoon I was sitting around musing about my week to come. I was thinking that all I had to do was make it through this week of work that I would be home-free for five days. I had made it through the leading worship on Sunday and that was my last big obstacle. I was wrong. I got to work Monday morning ready to start my busy week getting our new payroll software tested and ready for the first of the year. About 10:00 or so I start hearing rumors that I might be heading to Canada (we have a company there). I was thinking that was fine. I knew that they might be sending me here in January so that is what I assumed they were talking about. I was wrong again. Come to find out, they wanted me to head up here Tuesday (today) leaving out of Abilene at 6:00 am on the company jet. So here I sit up in the northern part of Alberta writing this post. It is amazing the twists and turns life takes and how it is truly impossible to plan out your future. I had my week planned out. I was off of worship practice and didn’t have much else going on so I figured on spending some relaxing evenings with my wife, actually getting to work out, and wrapping Christmas presents. I guess this just gives me another opportunity to trust the Lord with my life and know that he has already worked all the details out.
It is cold up here (around 12 degrees F) but everyone that is here all the time says that is warm. It can get to around -40 degrees F or so. The snow and trees make it so beautiful up here and the work site is amazing. I haven’t had the chance to see any but I hear there is some awesome wildlife up here. I should be heading back Thursday evening so I will be home in time for all the Christmas festivities. It is about 7:30 pm here and I am about to take a shower and go to bed as I have to be up at about 4:00 am to get breakfast, fix my lunch to take to the site and then catch a ride up there. Yippie!!
