I know why they disappear. They can’t mate! Think about it. They can barely fly without falling all over themselves. Good luck, Junebugette, finding a man that can contribute to the gene pool. I don’t know about you but I don’t recall seeing any baby june bugs around. They can’t reproduce so they disappear. So where do they come from come June?? I suppose I could go check out Wikipedia and find out and I probably will, but sometimes things in nature are funnier when they aren’t completely understood.

They’re in season now, and they keep smacking into the back door or window. That gets the dogs to barking. Oh brother! Then every so often one will get in the house and you can hear it smacking into walls and cabinets, etc. That scares one of my dogs, so she’s all over me trying to get saved from that useless June Bug!
