Happy Old Year 2008!

Dec 31

Here we Gasex are again, at the Rabeprazole sodium beginning of Side effects metronidazole a new Lincocin 500 mg year and the end of an old one.  I did a post like this one last year and it seemed like a good idea to do another one this year.  We were talking with some dear friends last night about how 2008 was and I had to think really hard to remember some of the things that shaped it.  As time goes on it will only get harder to remember what made 2008 special and memorable.  This way I will always be able to look back on the highlights of the past year.  So here they are in no particular order (also check out the pictures below):

  • One of Reglan dosage the things Silagra that dominated Aciphex 10mg - 90 pills our year Flomax 0.4 mg was redoing our fireplace.  We started this project at the end of July and didn’t get it finished until the end of October.  Even though it took lots of time it was well worth it.  We have been able to enjoy some warm fires on some cold evenings.  Hopefully it will help us to keep our heating bill down as the winter gets colder.
  • Another addition to the living room of our house is our furniture.  We have had a conglomeration of different pieces and the couch we had was starting to wear.  We started shopping for furniture and ended up with a couch, love seat, and chair for a bargain price.  It really adds to the room and the house.  We look forward to enjoying it for years to come.  Another piece of this furniture puzzle is the entertainment center we ended up with (thanks Ikea).  The whole living room is different.
  • At the end of October I had the opportunity to go on the Men’s Fly Fishing Trip with guys from our church.  Not only was this trip an amazing time in the outdoors learning a new sport it was a great time of spiritual rejuvenation.  The Lord used this time to speak to me about leading my wife.  I would encourage every guy reading this to go on this trip if it is at all possible.  It is an amazing experience to sit around a fire with a group of guys who love the Lord.
  • Lacey and I completed the Sacred Marriage study this year and it was a huge blessing to our marriage.  It really pointed our marriage in a direction that I pray we can sustain.  Marriage is less about happiness and more about holiness.  Granted, when we are seeking the Lord first and his holiness we will be much happier.  And when happiness seems out of reach (and it will sometimes) we can still have great joy.  I praise the Lord for the time we spent in this class.
  • 2008 was another year of great friends.  We have gotten very close to some new friends.  God has surrounded us with people that reflect Him and this encourages us to follow Him more closely.  You can’t have a better friend than one that helps draw you closer to the Lord.
  • This has also been a year of good books for me.  I found what I consider to be my favorite author this year.  Brandon Sanderson wrote my favorite new trilogy, Mistborn.  My wife and I started swapping books this year so I had the opportunity to read the Mark of the Lion trilogy.  Wonderful books.  I discovered Stephen R. Lawhead, another great writer.  Another one of my favorite things in the book topic would be Half-price Books in the metroplex.  Every time we go that way I make it a point to go by there.   This is officially my favorite store.  They have a huge selection and great prices on their books.
  • This year has also been a good one for boardgames.  We have found more and more people who enjoy playing the games we enjoy.  On couple in particular has introduced us to my current favorite game: Power Grid.  We also discovered such games as San Juan, The Struggle for Rome, and Sequence.  That list could go on and on.  I actually am putting a stop to my game buying so that I can learn all of the games I currently have.  I also had my first official boardgame day with a group of guys.  We had a blast and we will be doing it again.  If you are up for some good board game action let us know.
  • I am continually blessed by my job at Lauren Engineers and Constructors the Lord provided for me.  I received a promotion this year and am continuing to grow in my worth to the company.  I can honestly say that I love my job.  Praise the Lord.
  • Last, but definitely not least, my wife continually blesses me.  the longer we are married the more the Lord uses her in my life to draw me to Him.  I am so thankful that God put us together.

So there you have it.  A quick recap of 2008.  As we press on into the new year I would encourage you to take a moment and reflect on what the Lord has done in you life this year.  I am sure you will find just as many amazing things as I did to be thankful for.

What was your favorite thing that happened or how did the Lord bless you in 2008?

Brian
