Random Fact #10

Filed under Random Facts, Site News

I haven’t done one of these in a while so I thought this would be appropriate.  Did you know that:

If you Google “brian casey” blog that my website shows up first in the search (as of this post, anyway).

How did I find this out? Let me tell you.  I was trying to figure out how people might be able to search for my blog via Google.  I was trying several things and not coming up with much.  If you search for superbrian it is the first item on the list.  This is the only search I had found before that picked my site up quickly.  Today I tried the above search and my site came up first in the list.  I just think this is interesting.  That’s all. You may go back to your lives, citizens.

Random (possibly made up) Fact (statement) #9

Did you know…

Every year about 98% of the atoms in your body are replaced.

This brings a whole new meaning to “reinventing yourself” or “a new you”. I have always wondered if this was the case. I guess you could truly tell someone you hadn’t seen in more than a year, “you are a totally different person. I don’t even know you anymore”. If this is true then I wonder if the atoms replaced include the atoms in your brain and if so how do we remember anything for more than a year? I guess the atoms on their way out could tell the new atoms everything they know. What if something was lost in translation? Would we know? I guess not.

Random (possibly made up) Fact (statement) #8

EarthWell, I haven’t done a random fact in a while and I am sure you are all greatly missing it.  Not to mention they are great space fillers in that they allow me to update my site with content that didn’t cost me much brain power.   Before I get to the real reason for being here, I will throw out another random fact: This post make one hundred and sixty posts that I have written here.  Who would have thought when I started this that I would get there.  Not me.  Sorry for the diversion.  On with the show!

Did you know that…

In the average lifetime, a person will walk the equivalent of 5 times around the equator.

I wonder if those little step counters from McDonald’s could keep up with that.  If that is the average person how far does the person that runs or walks for exercise go?  I wonder sometimes how they figure things like this out or if it is just made up.  Maybe I should have called this post ”Random (possibly made up) Fact (statement) #8″. I think I will.  Wow, that was kind of like time travel.  You read the title of the post first only to find out that I decided to change it at the end of the post.  That was a random thought deserving of a new “Random Thoughts” category.  Until next time.

Random Fact #7

I haven’t posted a random fact in a long while so here is one for your reading pleasure. Did you know that….

The King Ranch in Texas is bigger than the state of Rhode Island.

They aren’t kidding when they say that everything is bigger in Texas. And to think they get the same number of Senators :) .

Random Fact #6

Did you know that….

….People in parts of Western China put salt in their tea instead of sugar.

This is gross. I am a sugar lover. I will eat or drink pretty much anything with sugar in it with the exception of tea. This is even worse. “Yes, I would like some salty tea please.” Yuck!
