Resolutions
I am not a big fan of New Years resolutions. I have yet to know of anyone who has made them and actually kept them. I think they are a way to make people feel good about themselves for a little while and then feel bad about themselves when they break them. It’s also a good way to put off doing something that you know would be good for you but you would rather keep your guilty pleasure until the last possible moment. This is why I do not make any new years resolutions. I think that if you know of something that you should do then you should do it right then if possible.
This post was not meant to turn into a soapbox so I will come to the point. I have thought of a few things I want to do to better myself. I find myself too often in front of the television or the computer doing nothing but wasting time. This only leads to loss of mind and body and does not help the spirit much either. Here are a couple things I want to do to reverse my bad habits.
- I want to read two books per month. One of them I want to be educational (history, biography, or some other topic I am interested in) and the other to be spiritual.
- I already work out several times per week but it is not always consistent so I want to set myself a goal of working out at least three times per week and running at least once per week.
These are just a couple things for now and I am sure I will be able to add more to it as time goes by. Until next time.
