Your Top 10

Writing lists of the top 10 random things seems to be popular these days in the blogging community. I could do that but I had a better idea. I want to challenge each of my readers to examine their lives. Take a step or two back from your busy life and think about what is important to you. Not just the typical answers most people would give. Go beyond that. Be a little critical of yourself....

The Box

“If Christ is anything, He must be everything.” –Charles Spurgeon We all have a hypothetical box. We take all the individual components of our lives and put them in this box. I have my work compartment, at-home compartment, with-friends compartment, whatever-season-it-is compartment etc. The possibilities are endless. I determine how I dress, act, and sometimes even smell...

Thanksgiving 2007

Well, I hope everyone had as good a Thanksgiving as I had. For starters, I got to sleep in a bit which is always nice and then spend a nice restful morning with my wife. Next, it starts snowing (check out some more pictures here). I am not talking about typical Texas snow here. This stuff was coming down hard. I think we ended up with about 3-4 inches at least. So we drove to my parents house in...

Goals and Posting

“Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.”   –Will Rogers If you will notice, this month has been the second most posted-in month since my website came into being in 2005.  If you look at some of the months in there, it is obvious that I haven’t always been consistant in my posting.  I am trying to change that.  I love to write...

Politics

“I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians” –Charles De Gaulle We elect these people to do what we want, not what they think is best for us. Get involved. Vote at least. Stay informed on the topics of discussion (this is a daunting task). I think the politicians make their world complicated for the express purpose of...

The Wii and Super Mario Galaxy

I haven’t talked much about the Wii on my blog so let me inundate you with some of my nerdiness for a moment. Since my marriage a year ago, I have had less time to play video games than I used to. My wife is much more fun to be around than a video game. I still enjoy play games so it is even better when I can play a game with my wife. The Wii has provided this kind of quality time. I...

Democracy

“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried” –Winston Churchill. Even in a system that often feels as broken as ours does, I am confident in saying that we live in one of the best political situations in history.  Considering how fallible we as humans are, it seems best to me that we keep each other accountable...

Being Creative

Have you ever felt that, compared to others, you were not creative enough? Let me encourage you with something I found that makes a lot of good points. I am quoting from another site so you can click here to read it there or you can read it below. I have read a few things from this site and I recommend you check it out. One Year Anniversary

This weekend my wife and I celebrate one whole year of blissful marriage! I cannot believe it has already been a year and at the same time it feels like forever. Time is funny like that. The actual date is the 18th. Lacey is the biggest blessing God has put in my life. Before we got married many people told me that the first year of marriage is the hardest. If that is true then I...
