The View From Here

Well folks, the time is nigh so I hope everyone has made plans to be at the Bean Counter tomorrow night for some music. Caroline, Amanda, and I will be playing from 8:30 till 11:30 or so. It will be a good time so I hope you can all be there.

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Do I desire this better, heavenly country that God has prepared for me? Knowing the true treasure that Christ is, would I give up everything I have for the pure joy that can only be found in Jesus Christ? As of late, I would have to say no. My spirit desires these things but for some reason my spiritual desires and my fleshly desires have not been aligned. I already know why. I am not spending my time pursuing my Lord and Savior. Rather, I am filling my days doing the things that I want. The result is spiritual degredation. So, here I am. 

Father, please help me to put away the very temporary pleasures of this world and give me the desire to know you and seek you. Give me a heart for those who are lost in this world. Don’t let me sit by and watch as they perish in the sin that so consumes this world. Help me not to be comfortable with the world in its current state but give me the the strength to make a difference for You. Lord, I want to desire the treasure and joy that can only be found in You.

I haven’t been able to post in a while. Midterms. Well, I just finished my last one and I am glad they are over. Now the only question left is how did I do. I don’t feel great about them but I don’t feel that bad either. I studied hard and that is all I could do so whatever I come out with is ok. I have some interesting things to post but not enought time right now so I will get them up in the next couple days. Remember, this is the day the Lord has made so rejoicing is in order!!

I love this weather! Not only is it nice and cool outside, it is also raining! This is my idea of fall.

For those of you who read this I want to ask you to do something for me. Please pray for me. I feel very spiritually dry right now. I have been in the word and in prayer but I don’t feel like I am gaining any spiritual ground. I feel like I am sitting still. Please pray that God would show me what He wants for my life right now.
